Nineteen areas across the country are expected to experience “dangerous” levels of heat index on Saturday, the state weather bureau PAGASA said.
The following areas may experience heat index between 42°C and 44°C on May 3:

- Baler, Aurora
- Iba, Zambales
- Sangely Point, Cavite City, Cavite
- Infanta, Quezon
43°C
- NAIA Pasay City, Metro Manila
- Dagupan City, Pangasinan
- ISU Echague, Isabela
- Cubi Pt., Subic Bay, Olongapo City
42°C
- Science Garden, Quezon City, Metro Manila
- Laoag City, Ilocos Norte
- Bacnotan, La Union
- Tuguegarao City, Cagayan
- CLSU Muñoz, Nueva Ecija
- TAU Camiling, Tarlac
- Hacienda Luisita, Tarlac City
- Ambulong, Tanauan, Batangas
- Alabat, Quezon
- San Jose, Occidental Mindoro
- Cuyo, Palawan
Meanwhile, 23 areas on Friday have experienced dangerous levels of heat with the highest temperature recorded was 45°C:
- Baler, Aurora
- Iba, Zambales
- Sangley Point, Cavite City, Cavite
- Infanta, Quezon
PAGASA warned that dangerous levels of heat index may cause heat cramps and heat exhaustion. Heat stroke is also probable with continued exposure to heat.
The Department of Health advised the public to limit time outdoors and to drink plenty of water amid the scorching heat.
