A low pressure area (LPA) has been monitored in the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), according to the state weather bureau PAGASA on Thursday.
As of 3 p.m., the LPA was located 515 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, and embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).
The LPA will cause cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Eastern and Central Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao Region, and Sorsogon, while the ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Palawan, the rest of Visayas, and the rest of Mindanao.
The LPA has a low chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours, PAGASA said.
The easterlies may cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
Flash floods or landslides may also occur.
Meanwhile, light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters are expected across the country.
Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 5:33 a.m. on Friday. —
