MANILA, Philippines — Quezon City Councilor Alfred Vargas and 5th District Rep. Patrick Michael Vargas are installing more closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras in 14 barangays to boost safety measures.
The initiative, launched several years ago to address the need for enhanced public safety, will bring updated surveillance systems to homeowners’ associations (HOA), transport terminals, public markets and other key areas in Novaliches district.
“Public safety is non-negotiable. CCTVs are vital for monitoring illegal activities and deterring crime. Our goal is comprehensive coverage to ensure that every community feels secure,” the councilor said.
The Vargas brothers will be partnering with private groups, non-government organizations and government agencies, such as the Departments of Information and Communications Technology, Trade and Industry and Transportation, to help sustain the program.
“With the trust of our constituents in the upcoming term, we aim to equip every HOA, terminal and market with CCTV system. This is a cornerstone of our vision for an inclusive, organized and thriving Novaliches,” Alfred said.
