The Department of Transportation-Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (DOTr-MRT3) on Saturday announced that cashless payment is now an option at the Edsa railway line.
“Pwede nang masubukan ang cashless payment sa MRT-3 kasunod ng pilot testing ng GCash para sa contactless payment option sa lahat ng istasyon ng tren!” DOTr-MRT3 said in a social media post.
(Cashless payments can now be used on MRT-3 following GCash’s pilot testing of the contactless payment option at all train stations.)
“Ito’y bilang tugon ng Department of Transportation sa utos ng Pangulo na gawing mas convenient at mas mabilis ang biyahe ng mga pasahero,” it said.
(This is in response to the Department of Transportation’s order to make passenger travel more convenient and faster.)
The DOTr-MRT3 said commuters should only look at station ticket counters with cashless options to buy their single journey tickets.
