Former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf advised the Premier League club to sell the French forward once the season concluded.
“I believe they should cut their losses and part ways,” Leboeuf stated.
‘It’s ideal for both the club and the player’s upcoming career. Since careers tend to be quite brief, swift action is necessary if things don’t go as planned.’
And it could unfold this way—sometimes the chemistry just isn’t right. I was delighted when he joined Chelsea, yet things simply didn’t click. ‘He has never managed to feel at home, perhaps due to the role assigned to him not being suitable for his style of play.
‘It’s always challenging to move from a youth academy like Leipzig, where you grow up, to another team where performance is crucial and the pressure can be overwhelming. This was evident when I transferred from Strasbourg to Chelsea, and handling such circumstances requires great resilience.’
‘It has never been effective for him, yet he remains a skilled player. He needs to bounce back, something we’ve observed previously with players such as Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah when they departed.’
