Twenty-five areas across the country will see a “danger level” heat index on Friday, May 2, PAGASA said in its daily forecast.
Based on its 5 p.m. May 1 bulletin, the synoptic stations in the following areas could measure a heat index between 42°C and 45°C:

PAGASA classifies heat indices between 42°C and 51°C under the danger category, which may cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.
The weather bureau urges the public to limit outdoor activities, remain hydrated, and wear fresh clothes to avoid heat-related illnesses. —
