MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Labor and Employment reported yesterday that nearly 6,000 job seekers found employment immediately at the Labor Day job fairs.
The Labor Secretary, Bienvenido Laguesma, stated that the DOLE documented 5,782 hires from the more than 37,000 individuals who signed up for job fairs conducted at 70 locations nationwide.
The leading HOT jobs include roles such as production operator, production worker, cashier, service crew member, bagger, teacher, housekeeper, store clerk, and sales associate.
Laguesma noted that there were 12,323 jobseekers who availed themselves of the one-stop shop documentary services from the National Bureau of Investigation, Social Security System, Philippine Health Insurance Corp., Bureau of Immigration, Philippine Statistics Authority, Pag-IBIG, Philippine National Police and the Department of Health.
As many as 1,968 job seekers took advantage of the skill improvement programs offered by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.
Approximately 260 job seekers were provided with livelihood support.
Laguesma mentioned that the DOLE will organize an additional job fair on June 12 to commemorate Independence Day.
According to data provided by the DOLE-Bureau of Local Employment, 11,876 individuals availed themselves of the 39,366 available jobs both locally and abroad at various job fairs organized by the government starting from January.
Today, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is introducing the Trabaho para sa Bayan Plan 2025-2034 as part of the administration’s initiative to offer better job opportunities for Filipinos.
