LPA to bring rains in parts of Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao

A low pressure area (LPA) monitored within the Philippine Area of Responsibility will trigger rains in parts of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, PAGASA said Friday afternoon.

As of 3 p.m, the LPA was monitored at 215 kilometers east northeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur or 280 kilometers east of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte.

PAGASA’s forecast suggests that the LPA will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms in MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Quezon Province, Batangas, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Further, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to easterlies.

The state weather bureau warned residents in the areas to be affected by the LPA and easterlies of possible flashfloods and landslides.

Moreover, the highest temperature recorded during the 24-hour monitoring period that ended at 4 p.m. was 35.0 °C at 2 p.m. and the minimum temperature was 24.8 °C at 6 a.m.

Sunrise will be at 5:33 a.m. Saturday.
