Former Vice President Leni Robredo on Friday urged voters to reject candidates who give money in exchange for their votes.
“Manteneron ta an dignidad kan botanteng Nagueño. Dai iboto an sisay man na magtao nin kuwarta,” Robredo, who is running for Naga City mayor, said in a statement.
(Let us maintain the dignity of Naga voters. Don’t vote for those who buy your votes.)
“Siring kan dati, an kuwarta sa bulsa, an boto, sa balota,” she added.
(As it has always been, money is for the pocket. The vote is for the ballot.)
Robredo will lead the Miting de Avance of her local slate dubbed as An Bagong Team Naga alongside Senate bets, former Senators Kiko Pangilinan and Bam Aquino, as well as ML party-list led by its first nominee and former Senator Leila de Lima, on May 10.
Robredo’s rivals for Naga City mayor are:
- Ganda Abrazado (independent)
- Restituto De Quiros (independent)
- Louie Ortega (independent)
